Janie Kossak
My name is Janie Kossak, and I am in the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Summer 2015 and will graduate Fall 2016. I graduated from Columbia College in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in English/Education. In 1998, after teaching middle school for eight years, I earned my Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
Currently, I am the library media specialist at Austin Elementary in DeKalb County School District, where I have been employed since 2002. Previously I have served as a school librarian in Meridian, MS; Charleston, SC; and in Atlanta Public Schools; as well as working briefly for several public and medical libraries.
This portfolio exhibits my mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. Under the "Standards" link above, each of the six common PSC/ISTE standards and their twenty-eight elements are linked to learning artifacts and reflections which document my growth toward these goals. Links on the main navigation bar will lead visitors to additional evidence of my journey in becoming an instructional technology coach.
I look forward to serving as an instructional leader focused on engaging students and teachers in learning.
